I definitely echo this sentiment, haha. I couldn't stand to watch this blatant propaganda from Big Oil. Thanks, Sammy!

This line captured exactly how I felt about the show: "the overall thrust of “Landman” is that working the oil patch is cool and thrilling and vitally important, a tough job done by manly men who take care of their women and children. It’s impossible not to root for them."

But at the same time, the show makes it clear that you'd be insane to try and start or run a fossil fuel company. The only path to riches is a ton of luck and begging an oil major to buy you out.

It's a great concept for a TV show. Like "Dirty Jobs" but with life or death stakes, and a healthy dose of financial engineering. So I hope there's a way to apply the same entertainment lens to the renewables industry -- not as dangerous but just as vital to our energy security and people's livelihoods. Maybe throw in a few oddballs to round out the cast of characters.

Thanks Dmitriy! I have the same hope, that someone will make a similar show about renewables...there's absolutely a way to do it.

Americans buy over 40,000 new gas-burning cars every day. Legacy auto companies spend hundreds of millions on advertising to get folks to buy them. Since the electorate is 50/50, this means Dems are buying over 20,000 gas cars daily. This is our problem.

Adam McKay spends personal money making anti-climate videos of limited value. All they do is hammer home, once again, how bad climate change is and bad fossil fuel companies are. In the meantime, the crew making the videos all drive gas cars.

We need Newsom to carve out about $10 million from the carbon fund to hire Hollywood writers and production crews to make videos telling Dems to stop buying new gas cars. For a tiny fraction of the money legacy auto is pending to convince you to buy their polluting crap, our side could produce targeted media designed specifically to dissuade anyone on the left from ever buying a gas car again.

Affecting the sale of new ICE vehicles even a little will create far reaching ramifications in the C-suites of legacy auto. Our goal, and this should be stated by everyone on the left, is to completely kill the ICE industry. It should be a top priority to do this no later than 2035.
