Yeah the Tom Steyer thing has surprised me. Glad to hear some people, in some arenas, are talking about climate change!

"...focusing on climate makes you seem out of touch with the affordability concerns that are top of mind for most voters these days...." Yo yeah! That's why I wrote Kitchen Table Talking Points, five simple talking points (backed up with evidence) that bring our climate crisis home to the kitchen table, for all to use: https://substack.com/home/post/p-178551223

@gavinnewsom you have it all wrong. Stop listening to "pundits" and "polls", listen to people! The recent wave of democratic wins including the Georgia Energy Commission are wins directly attributable to high energy prices; an affordability issue! Many people trying to save our environment are very angry and disappointed in your recent policy changes in favor of the oil industry and utilities. You and your CPUC nearly killed the rooftop solar industry and 17,000 good paying jobs! That is an affordability issue!

Rooftop solar is not to blame for the bogus "cost shift" utility funded PR message. Energy economists have proven, with math, that rooftop solar saved ALL ratepayers $1.49 billion in 2024 alone. You know that utilities make a 10% net profit on building infrastructure. 2 million rooftop solar installations, paid for by homeowners and businesses, generate ~18 GW of electric capacity per year, which is 18 GW of generation the utilities did not need to build to meet rising demand over the past 20 years.

In your quest to be a corporate democrat and seek the White House, you have directly contributed to California losing its place as clean energy and climate leader. It is ironic that Republican Arnold Schwarzenegger's clean energy policies are being killed by a democrat.

@tomsteyer time to step up as California's next climate leader. Do not shy away from your roots!
