While Sammy gives you all you need to know about the harm from buying and burning gasoline, too many Dems are still buying gas-burning cars. Over 40,000 brand new gas cars are sold every day in the US. Half of those are bought by Dems. All of them should be intently ashamed of their action. Buying a new gas car is one of the most environmentally destructive things you can do.
EVs have been cheaper than gas cars for many years now, so there is no reason to ever buy a new gas car. Research which EV will serve your daily needs, figure out where you'll charge it, then save up and get it done. If you drive a gas car, this needs to be your top priority.
Agree that reasons for hope are important now when so many other things suck. Here's another: California's homicide rate is the lowest it's ever been since they started calculating it.
Yes it’s depressing having an illiterate criminal and his illiterate buddies run the county. It’s also depressing that less than 50% of the people elected them. Again the democrats will have a ton of work to do reversing the past 4 years of chaos again. Unfortunately the what will be 8 years of damage, climate change will continue to progress. Everyone will suffer the consequences of the delays, not stopping, but delays. So it is tough to stay upbeat. Mainly the am dismayed by the administrations human rights violations. That is disgraceful. Gives America a black eye. Actually we have lost so much ground since Al Gore actually had the election stolen from him. Trump is a nut and people still voted for him. Thats unfortunate. But the democrats need to act swiftly, maybe starting in November, but for sure in 2028. It will take time to rebuild the gutted government agencies again too. Hopefully we can continue to move forward at a faster pace in 2028 as we have a lot of up coming disasters to respond to now and in the future.
Allowing people to bet on the effects of climate change is wild to me. So much potential for market manipulation by those who don't care about climate change AND still want to profit from it. Evil doesn't even begin to describe it.
Also, I feel like climate scientists would absolutely clean up on these betting markets? If the U.S. government doesn't want to fund climate science, there's always online betting.
